Our Policies
Our rules are designed to promote fair play, respect, and Islamic values.
The Salam Dunk Basketball Association adopts the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) rulebook for basketball, with the following exceptions noted below. Got questions? Contact us at [email protected].
Registration and Fees
Player Fee
$75 before the season starts. $25 late fee after the first game day.
Waivers Required
Waivers must be filled and signed before the season begins.
Limited Registration
First-come, first-served basis for all registrants.
Roster
Requirements
Players must be male and 17+ years.

All teams can contain from 6 to 9 players.
Approval for Changes
Commissioner's approval required for roster changes.
Not Registered?
Non-registered players result in game forfeiture and captain suspension.
JerseYs
Use Pennie Jerseys
Provided pinnie jerseys with numbers are required.
...Or Use Your Own Jerseys
Teams may use their own jerseys if they are color-coordinated and numbered.
Game Rules
Minimum Time and Team
Games start on time with a minimum of 4 players per team.
Forfeit after 15 minutes
Forfeiture occurs if less than 4 players are available 15 minutes after scheduled start.
Don't Miss 50% of Games
Teams forfeiting 50% or more of regular season games are ineligible for playoffs.

Players must participate in 40% of regular season games.

One Captain Per Team
Each team appoints one captain.

Captain communicates with commissioner/referees/scorekeepers.
Referee's Rights
All Decisions are Final
Rights to end games if deemed necessary; standings impact decided by commissioner.
Game Duration
Timing
Two 15-minute halves with a 4-minute halftime.
Overtime
4 minutes; Sudden Death to 5 points if still tied.
Game Clock
Game clock runs continuously, stopping only in the final 2 minutes of the second half and overtime.
Fouls and Substitutions
Ejection
Ejection after 5 personal fouls or 2 technical fouls.
Bonus Free Throws
Bonus Free Throws start at 7th team foul each half.
Reporting
Must be reported to scorer and acknowledged by officials.
Behavior and Conduct
Disorderly Conduct
Fighting or disorderly behavior results in immediate disqualification and suspension, determined by the commissioner and referees based on severity.
